Back to December 2015 while iron ore price bottomed at US$39/t, iron ore producer BCI announced to wind down production. Coincidentally, lithium Chinese spot price bottomed in December 2023 (I firmly believe), CXO now wind down production. Interestingly, China had 8 lithium producers shut down in November 2023. Even Zimbabwe lithium miner operated by Chinese Huayou started downsizing from 1 January 2024. So tell me where’s oversupply coming from?

SQM & Gina are paying a very high premium for AZS…
If lithium price would sustain at such low level, why would BYD, SQM and Gina aggressively acquire lithium projects?
