EV market growth does not require cheap EV production costs, only cheaper selling prices. Tesla has the largest production cost margins outside China because they have revolutionized car manufacturing. As with any new technology, as the market becomes mature sellers reduce prices at the expense of gross margins. Competition forces them and economy of scale allows them to maintain or improve benefits.
USA won’t be producing lithium from their brines at large scale in the coming years, only in the next decade.
Please, don’t give lessons on topics you don’t understand. Iron and iron ores are more abundant than lithium and lithium ores, and they are everywhere. For them to be profitable all over the world, lithium ores need lithium prices to be much higher than your forecasts. If you attach to your price forecast, few ores will be profitable. What’s next? Lithium extraction from seawater?
