It's likely that the many nuisance posters would be honest with their response to any 'paid poster - yes/no' declaration @heedless . Heavy use of the ignore feature and following the @dynofish strategy of non-responding works very well for me, but I do acknowledge your concerns about less experienced newcomers to LTR and other threads being mislead by misinformation.
Perhaps with each posters status/disclosure on each post made, the number of other posters having placed that particular poster 'on ignore' it might better inform HC readers of the merits and legitimacy of each posters contributions and whether they should consider updating their own ignore list accordingly?
