For those misinformed or misguided ones who imagine that EV's are a luxury, they ignore the reality that Australia is not the centre of the EV universe! Right here, right now, yes they remain a luxury item. But it may be a wake up call to some that the Aussie market is infinitesimally small in the global sense. In China all of the growth in automobiles is in EVs....ICE are going backwards at a rate of knots!
There is good news on the horizon for Aussie consumers though. The price of average EV's is reducing as the likes of BYD (formerly a phone battery company) are releasing new cheap models, and even the tech company Xiaomi has just released a modestly priced EV to market with immediate orders for 50,000 vehicles in 27mins. This is the sort of innovation technology that is lighting a fire under the potential of EVs. Of course there is also the ESS market that is barely ever mentioned but which will also demand vast quantities of Lithium chemicals. Wake up to the actual future!
