Following Elon Musk's last China visit, Tesla is allowed by China to transfer the (vast amount of) data collected by Tesla vehicle cameras in the country back to the United States, to train algorithms for its autonomous driving technologies. This itself sounds like China does not have a sense of "national security" at all? Just imagine, if a Chinese auto OEM requests the same thing from the US, what would be the reaction from the US side? With their mindset, EV cameras (especially those of China made) are seen as risk, sending the data back? That would be crazy!
