Yes, US and Europe will buy from Australia until they have their own lithium produced domestically and processed.
Their production cost probably cheaper. And so is shipping costs (which is getting very expensive).
And with America First policy, they will certainly prioritise their own.
We will sell to whoever who needs more than what their own soil can produce. Probably the Chinese, the way things are going, with Elon moving away from Tesla being pure play EV maker to focus on his Robotaxi concept, Ford delaying their full EV rollout, EU car makers doing JVs to produce their EVs in China.
Our disadvantage was always going to be the fact that we won't have our own EV production facility. And we won't as our labour cost is not competitive.
We can wait for India and Saudi, that's another 5 years to ramp up.
