Any who seriously question the value of reliable power should drop by an aluminium smelter and ask to speak to the general manager, asking "How important is base load power?".

That's where all the cans come from that people drink from, which you may argue isn't a good thing - your call.

However, a blackout would kill the smelter during a melt. The vats would be unusable, like a full load of cement gone hard in a mixing truck.
Plant closed, goodbye.

And people would think themselves hard done by if all their frozen meat thawed out and a street bar-b-que party was not scheduled!





Australia must seem like the Don Quixote of the world, fighting an insurmountable army, but I guess one windmill down isn't bad, eh?

NOTE: China puts out over 10 BILLION tons (one ton = 2200 lbs), while Australia at number 14 with 4.15 million tons are not even in the running!



There is NO way that Oz will ever make a dent in worldwide greenhouse gasses while those top five heavy hitters don't pull their fair share.
And the irony is that a lot is produced from our resources!!!

Might as well try bailing out the ocean with a kiddie's sand bucket.
