Around 113.2 thousand electric vehicles are forecast to be sold in Thailand in 2030, representing a significant increase in the sales volume of electric vehicles across the country1. The Thai government has set ambitious goals for electrification, aiming to produce 100% of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sold domestically by 2035. In January this year, BEV sales in the country accounted for 17.8% of total car sales, and the government targets BEVs to constitute 30% of total car manufacturing by 2030, producing 725,000 zero-emission cars, 675,000 electric motorcycles, and 34,000 electric buses and trucks2. Exciting times ahead for Thailand’s electric vehicle market!
