Its both a blessing and a curse - a curse for ICE sector jobs.
The original plan from both the US and EU was, their ICE sector would move into NEV sector, so that jobs would switch over.
But they were slow to change over to EV and in some cases like Toyota, tried hydrogen.
The Chinese however, embraced NEV fully. Now, they are ahead in innovation, scale and market share.
But this is fricking out the traditional ICE sectors in both US and EU, so they are demanding their politician protect them with high tariffs from Chinese competition.
And without the US and EU markets being open to Chinese EV cars, the ICE sector jobs will be protected, and the transition to EV, will be slower, not stopped.
Until then, the Li material sector will face some challenges.
