NIO CEO William Li just predicted on $NIO Q2 earnings call that China’s NEV penetration will reach 80% in 2-3 years and joint ventures will see further deterioration of their market share as ICE vehicle sales continue to fall.
This is the most aggressive prediction I’ve heard so far. Former MIIT Minister recently said he expects NEV penetration to reach 50% in 2026.
