You are right Mick, these new models will get a heap of media attention as they are released here.
Sexy new cutting edge car tech is about to hit Australia and these guys know how to sell a product and how to get vast media attention.
Not only will the EV Lithium boom cause lithium demand that will be great for the Aussie(and LTR) economy, but think what all the actual new car sales will do for the economy as well.
Imagine, virtually all our current car fleet will be replaced by something better within ten maybe fifteen at the outside years.
People will want to time the sale of their ICE vehicle because there will come a point, once EVs are reaching critical mass that the old cars will become quite undesirable and so resale value will drop like a rock. They might be shipped on mass to third world markets as happened with all our old typewriters! Ha ha! But India and China are well on their way with EV tech including very cheap models so maybe it will be the scape yard for many or our current ICE car fleet. Seems a massive waste but this is the nature of so called disruptive technology, it comes and it takes over almost totally very quickly.
Think when iPhone took over from Nokia or for those older when Colour TVs took over from Black and White.
The old tech is quickly worth very little.
Come 2025 I wouldn't want to be owning an ICE vehicle unless its had been my Dad or Grandads or it was something collectable like a steel bumper,( but they, the 60s 70s classics will never go down in value).
The new tech EVs will also herald in all the driverless tech thats on the way and as this evolves will help road safety and congestion massively.
Its an exciting future for Australia and LTR holders. Still time to make money out of this boom too by holding LTR. DYOR.
