I think we all agree that Australia can’t compete in wages . Basically with anywhere in the world . However when we have the raw product here , it gives us a bit more chance to value add , saving on shipping and ESG . I agree that this Labor government has spent more time trying to look like they are doing something , rather than actually doing much but if we are to cease being “ the worlds quarry “ now is probably the time . At least it a better way to spend the money than in Victoria where the even worse government has presided over a 16 billion dollar overrun for a short section of road . The 26 billion ( and I bet it will end up 30 by completion ) would have paid for a load of public transport and heaps of social housing but then they wouldn’t have gained the votes they did by scrapping the East West link !! Oh yeh that broken contract was a billion lost and the bungled com games disaster , another Billion . Absolute clowns
