Thanks for that. Thinking about whether the Chinese could circumvent this, the section on untraceable battery components is interesting. They propose a list of critical minerals, usually present in minute quantities, that would be excluded from the vetting process due to industry having no practical way of identifying the origin.
Then there is lithium. How to identify presence of Chinese lepidolte for example. Is there a traceable chemical signature ( would be costly process). Blockchain identification might be key. It will have to be a high bar set to exclude Chinese input and substitution. Australian product shipped to China has no chance, whereas LTR spod will be certified and that will be monitised.
