Did anyone watch this mornings TODAY show on Nine TV about the new Hydrogen & Hybrid models from Hyundai? The petrol head 'expert' being interviewed claimed nobody should believe all the hype and fuel guzzling models & utes (like his own) will remain the popular types of vehicles sold in Australia for at least 20 - 25 more years. He claimed very slowly dropping costs (currently around $80-100K ) and range were the obstacles, although hydrogen models were now getting up around the 800km range now.
Where does our local media find these personal agenda-pushing dinosaurs who are treated as spokespersons for EV in Australia? Then again, maybe I'm just reading all the wrong research and news on the EV/fossil fuel revolution here on HC and elsewhere from overseas? While waiting for the new government to adopt a firm stance and policies, wouldn't it be helpful and constructive if our Australian motor associations began including regular unbiased news & educational articles on EV in their monthly publications for members? Maybe even a regular Q&A segment?
