Hydrogen cars are just hybrids with a hydrogen generator instead of a petrol one. Considering they are more complex, more dangerous, require widespread infrastructure change and are less green than their fully electric counterparts I don't see much of a future for them. People talk about them bridging the gap between petrol and all electric, but with the range electric vehicles are getting and how competitive they are with existing cars I think they have a niche market in sectors requiring long range vehicles at best (trucks perhaps). While it has zero emissions, Hydrogen has a lot of hidden environmental Costs (notably shipping the hydrogen all over the place and retrieving the hydrogen)
