The continuous run vs the previous batch run is where it gets interesting. They can do before and after calcs etc using the standard approach discussed for recovery of this test phase.
What I was wondering was what instrumentation and systems are available and built into the plant to monitor in real time. What leavers do they have during a run and how do they observe each stage. It must be periodic sampling but it would be interesting to know how they do it. Presumably certain parts need to be tuned real time to account for the variability of inputs.
This is probably why building chemical plants like this is hard and why the margins are so high.
