Sorry was super busy before and couldn't check. I just had a quick read through the release and it does sound indeed like glencore might be working on a process but not sure how advanced it must be and whether it infringes on any LPD Patents.

This is the part that interested me the most directly from the release.

"The concentrates will now undergo roasting and conversion testwork
with ALS Global in Perth to produce lithium carbonate. Testing will use a sulphate
roast, a process predominantly used in China which is low cost and de-risked. We will
also conduct preliminary oxidative acid leach test work with Glencore Technology in
Brisbane"So to me it reads they are testing the original Chinese roasting way and maybe just a trial for what ever it is that glencore is cooking up.

The can have the Chinese roasting way all they like as that sort of processing them will keep them out of a lot of areas such as Europe as I don't think it will hold up to the standards they are bringing in there. so that's fine for them if their offtakes are with Chinese producers.

Will have to do more digging to see what glencore are trialing if there is even any info released but if they do go with glencore that ought to light a fire under LPD to get their process to market as they will start to lose first mover advantage.

This is the other passage of interest which at least announces the glencroe tech

"The lithium mica concentrates produced by BGRIMM have recently been delivered to
ALS Global in Perth. These concentrates will undergo roasting and conversion testwork
to produce lithium carbonate. The process route being tested is an Alkaline Salt Roast,
which is commonly referred to as a Sulphate Roast. This is the process predominantly
used in China and therefore, as there is an operating track record, the process has
been de-risked.
Additional lithium mica concentrates produced by BGRIMM will also be delivered to
Glencore Technology in Brisbane where the concentrates will undergo oxidative acid
leaching testwork using Glencore Technology’s Albion ProcessTM to solubilize the
lithium for conversion to lithium carbonate. Although the acid leaching increases
complexity and risk PAM is of the opinion that preliminary investigations are
worthwhile. "The recovery levels and the concentrate they are hoping to produce also seem well down compared to LPD.

Lithium mica concentrate grades up to 3.0% Li2O with lithium recoveries up to 78%.Sorry too busy to dig further atm.
