i am pro-electric drive equipment and not only light vehicles as it is the basis of my employment but im quite sure coal is not the topic of any negative electric vehicle chatter. electric drive trucks are used in the mining industry along with shovels etc. because they are move efficient and powerful.. that and I cant remember the last time i run my own car on coal. in fact, electric vehicles will require charging which will for the moment be driven be coal fired powerplants as the world is somewhat 70% reliant on them. electric vehicles, until any regenerative fuel becomes highly efficient for power generation to supply the grid will remain highly dependent on coal usage for power generation.
if you remember dick smith's solar powered car, it was extremely light, not a people mover and it was still covered in solar panels. so solar panels installed for every electric vehicle at this stage will not be sufficient.
glad to be holding in LPD though, for where lithium usage is discussed LPD's technology is a great contribution to the industry.
