Hi everyone,
I thought I'd start a thread for collecting serious research and basic knowledge into the various problems and prospects of the Lithium industry as they relate to KDR and its joint venture with SQM. Hopefully this might correct some misperceptions and the disinformation floating around. An accumulation of knowledge of this sort will help us to appreciate what is going on.
Various issues have come up in other posts, from the specific to the general:
1) hard rock vs brine recovery processes
2) kinds of lithium - hydroxide, carbonate, spodumene
3) purities of lithium produced, and required
4) stages of concentration, chemicals used, waste produced
5) technological transformation, i.e. expectations of EV penetration, social change, govt involvement etc.
6) geopolitical and strategical considerations, i.e. why are SQM in this?
7) supply and demand forecasts
Feel free to repost interesting bits that you've put elsewhere.
