    If you're talking about Pesos then the local farmer will have to pay 50% more but he will be earning 50% more due to inflation. Look at the chart! This is not a new thing. It's been going on for years and all the Argentinians hate it but they are used to it. I lived there as an exchange student in 1981 (and I've been back many times since more recently) and the inflation was 300% per annum then and prices went up every day, more or less, it was crazy. SNAFU.

    If you're talking about US dollars, then, different story. Lower inflation and no real devaluation. You're right, they do a lot of business in US dollars, and even more now that Macri (the president) has removed a lot of the currency controls.

    P.S. Nowhere have I said here that Argentina is a stable economy. But if you want brine, you gotta go to where the brine is.
