I think cobalt is slightly overrated to be investing in even though battery demand will be its main source of demand.
As a byproduct of nickel/copper I can see why the demand is stagnant in developing new mines but if they are relying on batteries for increased demand well that increases nickel demand as well
Asx wise would you be better off capturing the market from a copper/nickel company hoping that they are near the bottom of the market or betting on a speccy like BPL with very low MC and potential for cobalt open cut in future.. Food for thoughts anyways.
Also Chinese are funding Congo cobalt development and in construction ready to capture market

Typically, lithium-ion NCA batteries use a combination of 80% nickel, 15% cobalt and 5% aluminum. It’s unclear what mix Tesla and Panasonic’s battery combination is. (The anodes in these traditional lithium-ion batteries is usually a graphite combination, which acts as a host for the lithium ions.) The addition of the aluminum to the NCA battery makes it more stable
