The Americans are not focusing on lithium brine deposits because they want to but because they have to as geology dictates what types of lithium deposits they have on their territory.  The low hanging fruit is represented by lithium brines within Nevada (and a few other states) where closed basins and lithium enriched rocks  (among other factors) have contributed to the formation of concentrated lithium brines.

Keep an eye on explorers that drill other basins close to Clayton Valley. Some might get lucky. And as you well know the cost of recovering lithium from brines is less than from lithium enriched pegmatites/hardrock. Plus at a certain moment the buy 'made in America' thing could come up and Tesla might prefer to buy local in order to help create jobs and pay tax in the state that hosts them all. Political will and some incentives might also come into play later on.

But the bulk of activity when it comes to lithium brine exploration and production is still represented by South America i.e. Argentina, Chile and Bolivia.  Each country has slightly different lithium brines - Argentina & Chile being the best. Also each country has its own problems when it comes to juniors trying to exploit their lithium brines with Argentina being the best, followed by Chile and on the last place Bolivia.

Their lithium brines make up the world renowned Lithium Triangle. There are tens of lithium (and potassium, boron) salars in each of those countries and it is difficult if not impossible for an investor to figure out on its own what really happens there and who's doing what. Until now there was no comprehensive Lithium Triangle map that would also provide info on ownership, commodities, grades, elevation, area, resources.
