This is not a goverment thing. This is some companies using external factors to try seek benefits for themselves. If the miners think that there are so much money to be made, why could not they do themselves. If state or federal governments, albeit using incentives or tax cuts or direct support, use public resources to benefit a very small group of miners (which hires no more than 10,000 people altogether) , then this is totally wrong. Some will claim more tax generated or local economy expanded, that is just partly true. What also happens is when downturn comes, the miners will leave the place faster than bullet.
