Great data DrManhattan. The new EV models seem to be from the likes of BMW, Mercedes and Audi etc, there is also solid data that Tesla has been displacing the luxury brands where the added battery cost is less critical than the mass market brands. The Chevrolet EVs have been a fail and this may be a glimpse of the hurdle manufacturers will face building cheap family sized EVs. I see EV penetration in luxury and small car categories but ICE vehicles in the mid to large SUV retaining cost MOAT over EV for some time. Large SUVs are also the fastest growing car segments in both OZ and the USA.
Tesla sales should also slow this quarter as it surpassed the 200,000 vehicle sales last quarter that sees the federal EV subsidies end. China is an enigma, I can't really explain that rapid growth other than government diktats and subsidies associated with desmogging the cities. I am not bullish on China anyway, too much debt.
