Is this stage 2a hypothetical or has it been disclosed somewhere. The $60m being exactly half of stage 2 capex.
Can't remember seeing any details on modular additions to increase production via existing plant, which would imply the plan has always been to build a second plant.
$60m wouldn't go far, we know from experience cost overruns in lithium space are +25-50%.
In any case the market is ignoring stage 2 for the time being and rightfully so. There is ample supply without further expansions. Wodgina coming online will add pressure on prices.
100% of focus needs to be on optimizing current plant, selling the product and refinancing the debt. Everything else second. There is no point in getting lulled into a false sense of security by trusting offtakers to take the additional supply. If they want more, let them fund it. There needs to be skin in this game for all parties involved, it's the only way to keep said parties honouring their commitment.
