    It is already here. My niece has a roof full of solar panels and two Tesla Power wall batteries in Tasmania of all places. No power bill at all and when they got a recent power outage able to keep essentials like fridges, a light of two and charging for phones for a couple of days. off course if you want to continue to charge along as normal batteries will only last a few hours.
    No its not cheap but neither are power bills and they don't see any of them no more!
