Some current EV gossip:
...Because the moving finger that writes and moves on seems to be  making  rude signs at the moment!
Truly.

TESLA
Elon’s version of the finger  is directed at the US EPA.
In that link above where he said the  bargain-discounted 2020 Long Range Tesla S  goes 402 miles on a single charge he was refuting the EPA’s claim it only goes 391 miles per charge!
He said it was the EPA’s fault;  “a TA left the car door open and the keys in the car. So ..........the car actually went into a waiting for driver mode and lost 2% of its range. And as a result, it had a 391 test”

And the EPA gave Elon a finger of its own back as The Verge later reported. “We can confirm that EPA tested the vehicle properly, the door was closed, and we are happy to discuss any technical issues with Tesla, as we do routinely with all automakers,”.......

And while Elon and the EPA are fingering each other, all is not hunky dory in Germany despite this month’s government incentives.
Fingers are being pointed in all directions!


GERMANY
Last Saturday, Clean Technica’s Alex Voight - if he had eight arms- well, he  would have been using the middle finger of ALL of them!

(I think it is partly because he read that KPMG story posted earlier to BEWARE THE EV GLUT [here], and is worried Germany has missed the boat, bus [or Tesla Robotaxi].

He says whereas Tesla changed all the rules of the auto business via software swipes  a decade ago,  the German execs - raised on the smell of an oily rag - have missed the robotaxi altogether .
.... “ 90% of all Volkswagen software today is outsourced.” Voight writes sneeringly
“.....Welcome to the world of low vertical integration and low pace of innovation.”

*ouch*
Voight notes that four days after Germany announced a stunning Ev incentive package on June 4* VW “sacked”/ “replaced” CEO Herbert Diess.“because of the software disaster with the Golf 8 and the ID.,3”

But he says it this is NOT going to fix things.
“Run a job assessment with all top managers at VW, Audi, Porsche, BMW, and Daimler tomorrow and ask them to code a small game or a simple but working virus. If they are not able to do so, fire them immediately, because they are not fit for the job. How many will be left?”

It’s a telling read.

- “We slept ..... It will be bloody!”
