Remains to be seen what degree of impact mining Lithium would have on the waterbirds, the creation of evaporation ponds for example may offset any impact on the lake by increasing potential habitat.
We are I think only talking about the transference of a quantity of brine to evaporation ponds. The volume and its relation to the lake's resource would probably determine any detrimental influence.
Way too early to write the project off IMO.
