Interesting article, nothing new but maybe other analysts will take note and start taking EV's seriously and the impact on oil prices. With the oil companies this reminds me of the tabacco companies in the early 2000's refusing to diversify (vapes anyone) even though it was obvious their sales were in decline. British America Tabacco eventually bought in around 2010 and started manufacturing vapes and liquids. Surely if you are Woodside you need to get into the battery market as a hedge, even if you don't believe it will impact you in the next 10 years? Now is the time for them while all of these lithium miners are cheap.
