When PIO (David Crook) took up the exploration ground in the Pilbara, it was openly stated that it was taken up for the lithium potential. It was only later that the gold potential in the lag gravels was realized by Novo. The hard rock gold potential was a much later discovery. David Crook was never enthusiastic about the gold at Kangan. He considered that PIO (ESS) had better prospective gold ground on which to spend any available exploration money. He may not be proved right, and he may well have changed his mind by now, but that was his view a few years ago. wherever there is hard rock lithium, there is some potential for Caesium. However, as far as I know, there have only ever been three commercial caesium mines, so it is very rare.
