The SP brake was an unfortunate untimely event with the unexpected capital raising to mates of mates coinciding with yet another Goldman Sachs etc down ramping so called analytical lithium pricing forecast which is in stark contrast to all and sundry.
“By way of comparison, consensus lithium price targets for 2024 are nearly triple Goldman’s forecasts at $US29,063, according to Morgan Stanley”. Extract from Financial Review article titled Goldmans’s bearish lithium price call stuns markets, dated 12th December 2022.
Like the negativity in May by the same detractors, within weeks lithium demand reality will kick in again with all lithium players on the rise again.
Meanwhile PLS reported today that, “Pilbara Minerals has achieved a significant improvement in pricing outcomes with its major offtake customers, following completion of the price reviews foreshadowed in the Company’s September 2022 Quarterly Activities Report.
The revised offtake pricing applies for all shipments to the Company’s major offtake customers falling within December 2022 and onwards. Based on today’s market pricing reference data, average pricing across major offtake customers would equate to approximately US$6,300/DMT (CIF China) on an SC6.0 equivalent basis”, Extract from PLS ASX release titled Offtake Pricing & Project Expansion Update, dated today being 21st December 2022, p1.
This received offtake SC6.0 spod price is up +30% from their September 2022 quarterly price of US$ 4,813 per dmt.
