I notice that unionisation is being blamed for bad service by QANTAS cabin crew. I'll probably ruffle a few feathers by saying this but I think it has more to do with them being Australians than anything else.
Australians just aren't much good in service industries. Shops, restaurants, airlines, sorry guys but my experience between here and the rest of the world is that Aussies just don't give good customer service.
I hate to say it and I'd be interested if other people's experiences are similar, but I wouldn't blame belonging to unions as the problem.
As an aside the only negative experience I've had on Emirates waas with an Australian attendant.
