@pintohoo; unless life is breathed into it democracy is little more than a fanciful, aspirational idea. For it to deliver almost everyone has to be on board.

It's already too late to turn the ship around, so what next? 1. Save some of the passengers [eg. the uber-wealthy & Pentecostals] 2. Save the crew [Corman jumped ship ages ago, others like Hunt have already declared they're leaving] 3. Save the young, the fit and the healthy [as with the decision by Perrottet & Morrison to let Covid rip throughout NSW] 4. Abandon HMAS Titanic Australia and just hope for the best 5. Smash and burn what's still left - deny Aussie Battlers the chance to rebuild and to re-create
