Really depends on the datafeed you are using (Comsec is VERY bandwidth ineficient), # of symbols refreshing, frequency of refresh and whether or not you have news turned on (also a bandwidth intensive feature)

The difference between auto refreshing with Comsec and Sanford for example is about 300 to 1. Yes, quite drastic.

FYI - OT, but figured with the QT users here, you would want to know - the new 3.6.7 beta version of QuoteTracker has new dynamic Historical charts which work same way as the intraday - All the features like zooming, scrolling, various configurable indicators, trendlines, fib Retracements, etc, are there, AND it works for AU securities. To use, get:
    http://www.quotetracker.com/beta

(install over the existing QT version)
Start QT and do a WebUpdate, then go to OPTIONS/Data Sources menu, HIST BACKFILL tab and select BigCharts as the backfill source. Symbol conversion should be automatic with most L I datafeeds in QT.

As for the security question that was brought up earlier, you are not giving us login info any more than you do to Microsoft or Firefox developers when you use those respective browsers to access your account. Login info is stored locally. All passwords are encrypted. Communication is between QuoteTracker running on your computer and the broker/Data feed you select. Everything is disclosed in the privacy policy (which is actually readable :) )
