Unfortunately I don't think hydrogen will be the answer either. Both electric and hydrogen lack the investment in the infrastructure required to energise millions of vehicles it may happen? But it's going to cost trillions to implement. Just a fast charge electric station for a single EV can cost 200k. And hydrogen could be dispensed at current petrol stations but hydrogen needs to be kept at cryogenic temperatures or it simply evaporates due to hydrogen being the smallest of the molecules in the universe. You can't build a vessel which has a smaller atomic footprint so it will slowly leak if it reaches it's boiling point which is about -250C
