Once silver breaks out it will be pulling gold with it I think. Even though GSR will likely drop to ~30-50:1 . All that has to happen is the knowledge of the actual physical silver issue to become "mainstream" within the investor circles. That so much of all the silver ever mined has been "destroyed" through industrial usage, shrinking the above ground recoverable stockpile. Of course being as dumb as the average investor is they will need to be slapped in the face with the knowledge of that from the mainstream media.

People aren't going to mining dumps until silver price is much higher and particular processes are developed to sort all the other metals/junk from the silver. All the electronics thrown out, all the film thrown out when it was no longer needed, etc, etc, spread out over tens of millions of dumps around the world. Good luck with making that profitable.

The largest industrial use sector for silver is growing and is literally recession proof because people want that green energy. Solar is preferred over wind for many reasons. And the electronics sector can't do without it for its particular use cases. Any alternative to silver will be worse except gold in some instances and no one is going to be preferring gold over silver for price reasons.
