Gold extended gains to $1860 an ounce on Thursday, the highest since mid-June, as traders continue to rush to the yellow metal as an inflation hedge. Consumer prices are sharply rising around the globe with the annual inflation rate in the US quickening to a three-decade high of 6.2% in October and in Germany hitting 4.5%, the highest since 1993. The potential for stagflation is rising as economic growth slows and price pressures continue to increase around the globe as supply constraints persist and energy costs remain elevated.
