Thanks for your response. I am heaps more comfortable running my own SMSF.

The situation of high fees and the GFC made me sit up and take a bit more notice of what was happening with my financials. The fact that I only had a few more years to work before I was elegable to retire also played a big part.

I had to quickly make some decisions on the best path to take and so far all has worked out well.
