YES is the point I was making. When large battery installations are done, historically, EVERY CELL is replaceable in a large battery. I will say again that each CELL was over half a ton - At that weight, and over 200 cells in the battery, it is IMPOSSIBLE to remove the battery as a whole.

Each and every cell is then individually performance monitored and replaced as required to keep the battery good.

I can only go on photos that I can get off the net and the one I showed which is a submarine battery showed a 6 volt ie 3 cell battery

I accept that there could have been individual cells but fail to see how each cell could have been treated as a single cell or be charged separately due to the large number of cells which would ALL have to be disconnected from each other to do so
