    So you're talking about some hobbyist engineers and their experiments. Not only that, just because they are engineers doesn't mean that they are particularly good at what they do.

    If they were Tesla, Panasonic or LG Chem engineers then I might think you had something.

    And, they're mucking around with old technology. Battery knowledge and management is evolving by the day and now the number of people developing them is expanding rapidly.

    After all that, you still can't prove that an ev battery only has that life. Using the common example of a Tesla battery suggests that they might have a reduced life after that period. Perfectly good for home storage or ev projects. And that's Tesla's old technology. Probably more than a decade old.
    Have a look at the second hand price of Tesla batteries. It appears there are plenty of people that think they have plenty of value.And the price of new batteries are falling rapidly.
