While we have been mentally cajoling ourselves into how big...bigger...even bigger still... our SNE may be, a little bit of action has been happening across the pond in Guyana.
XON announced last night that their deep offshore appraisal well, Liza-2, came in with a 58m gross oil column (Vs 98m for L-1) and have come out with a likely recoverable range of 800-1,400 mmbbls (after only 2 wells!?! - come on CNE...pull ya finger out!). This would make Liza the world's biggest discovery in 2015, usurping our SNE.
I do hope CNE/COP take up the well acknowledged p*ssing contest that exists within the Big Oil game and man-up with an eye-popping revised figure to claim back the title.
