Not pets exactly but they might as well be.
We've got a fair number of blue tongues here as well as larger skinks I guess they are.
Where I sit and look out the back door (a glass door), while I contemplate what a better job I could do running the country, I'm looking onto a covered brick area surrounded by low vegetation which the lizards love.
I watch them glide across the bricks like fish. Well I suppose they're closely related to fish. They're very graceful creatures.
They're so used to us they don't bother much. I think the bluetongues spawn a huge litter of young but the birds would get most of them.
