You neglected to highlight the most relevant part of the paragraph above....the bit where it states the electrical power will be primarily relying on diesel "for the construction and commissioning phase of the Project". Grid power will be the source of electricity post commissioning and for the life of the project.

This point is nothing but a red herring!
How else would you expect to move 25,000T (Phase 1) of finished product from site to port? How do you think all of the other projects based in the Lithium Triangle get their product to port....teleportation?
Comparatively speaking, would trucking the final product (in the form of Lithium Carbonate) out of Kachi have much less of an environmental impact than trucking massively higher volumes of 5.5-6% spodumene concentrate in any hard rock project...or the intermediate Lithium Chloride product in Galan's case? The answer is a resounding YES! If you truly want to compare apples v apples to support your (fictitious) case, I suggest you put together the truck movements (as Lake have done in Table 9-1) for other brine projects as well as hard rock and Galan's project for direct comparison. What you will find is that the number of truck movements per T of Lithium Carbonate will be on par and at the lowest end for brine projects that process to the final Carbonate product (incl. Kachi) and vastly higher for hard rock projects and Galan's LiCl operation.

Any release of gas into the atmosphere will be outlined in the EIA submitted for approval - and any such emissions would need to comply with stringent standards. Nothing to see here.

Yet another attempt at FUD. Compare the water drawdown at Kachi to any evaporation pond based project....and, before you start waving your arms about "fresh water v brine" just remember that fresh water sits on top of denser brine layers and the depletion of brine in an aquifer also significantly draws down fresh water.
You also neglect to mention the following, also outlined in the DFS document:
"Total pumping from the extraction wellfield is proposed to be 910 L/sec (across 14 productionwells) for the first year, increasing to 1040 l/sec for Years 2 to 25. The freshwater supply was 60lps for Years 1 to 2 and 15 lps for Years 3 to 25, evenly divided between the three freshwaterwells." The freshwater drawdown is at its maximum at the 2 year mark - at which point the recovery infrastructure in the plant is up and running and freshwater used for operational purposes reduces to 25% of what was used in year 1 and 2.
"Process water recovery early in the project will minimise freshwater resource impacts."
The maximum drawdown does not change the discharge to the vegas.

This is the eluate concentration step of the process where water is removed from the Lithium bearing solution coming out of the bead tanks....it is part of the RO process where the eluate is concentrated to >24 g/L, sufficient for lithium carbonate production. Lilac and Lake have stated that these processes are part of a closed system which recycles water used within the process. In short, this point is another nothingburger.
And I should also mention that the locals literally think that LKE’s operations stink!

IMO (and that of others), your referenced article is nothing but a biased hit piece.
Information has been put together about the work Lake has done with the communities, the relationship they have built over the past year, how they are taking care of the people and the environment in which they work, etc. This will completely refute the allegations in your referenced article/hit piece. This information is expected to be released in the coming weeks....and don't worry, I'll make sure to post it for all to see!
