Funnily enough, I've been looking at the Shortman data for the cumulative short position for Lake on a daily basis for some time now.....and the Shortman data has not updated since the 15/3 - i.e. it hasn't updated for the last 2 working days. The data for the 15/3 suggests Lake have a 3.72% (53.0M) cumulative short position and the daily trading volume has suggested that volumes have been higher than usual since 12/3 (when the CR announcement was released). I thought it a bit strange that Shortman data for Lake hadn't been updated for a few days so I searched for another data source for cumulative short positions. I found some data released (today) by ASIC suggesting that the Lake cumulative short position for the 19/3 is down to 2.4% (39.3M) - see attached. I usually like to take data from the one data source to eliminate any inconsistencies but, if this ASIC data is true, we have had a very significant reduction in the open short position for Lake through the last week! This is supported by the increased volume. 13M shares look like they were purchased between the 15th and 19th to specifically close out short positions. This looks to be a good sign but I want to see it reflected on Shortman before I believe it 100%!
