Kachi is 15km long and 20km wide with a basement ranging from 400m - 800m deep.
4.4mt LCE is huge and the exploration potential could see the resource over 17mt LCE.
Having the entire Salar to itself negates many environmental concerns, unfounded or not, of too many operators drawing from a single basin and in any event having an entire Salar is a damn impressive selling point.
Kachi would be economically viable even with a traditional pond system.
I don't understand your point that LKE needs to produce a 1kg sample or 20kg, neither of which prove scale. That was nothing more than an ASN publicity stunt in my opinion. Nobody questions whether brine from Kachi can be processed into BG Li2CO3. Pilot Plants and PFSs are what sway decision makers, not sending samples off to outside labs for photo ops.
The pilot plant should be on track for commissioning before years end and that is when the process is proven at scale. If management weren't confident of the potential of the Lilac process they wouldn't be proceeding with the PP.
LKE has been running brine through Lilac's process for more than six months and the post Lilac stage is conventional.
And Fernandez is pro mining and exports with a pledge to scrap the temporary export tax.
