Why don’t the shorters and downrampers ever talk about the Export Credit Agency arrangements with the U.K. and Canadian governments?

I find those deals fascinating and very unusual. Yes there are conditions attached as expected but the opportunity to draw down funding like that is excellent for Lake.

It certainly made me think when I read the U.K. Critical Minerals policy released recently. UK money to invest in foreign lithium projects. With rising interest rates globally, long term funding on a low rate of interest is remarkable and hats off to whoever got it. Funding for 70% of Capex for the 25ktpa at Kachi and likely to be for the 50ktpa (or has that been agreed already?).

This came as a left field announcement as Lake have done a few times. Could this ECA deal be repeated on one or two of the other projects in time?

The new CEO will have a lot to get to grips with but what an opportunity for someone to lead through the next phase.
