I am ambivalent about the Capital gains tax, which is 40% if gained within 12 months and 20% if held longer than 12 months. It was all in my wife's name, and she doesn't have paid employment, so all the tax-free thresh holds applied. All I did was move money from one bank account to another pretty good money compared to someone who gets taxed on real labour.
Capital gain tax is a rort for the wealthy, and on this one occasion for me. With her ill-gotten gains my wife bought a mobility scooter and a tilt trailer so that I can drive her to places that we previously inaccessible to her see I said I was ambivalent.
