I think that it will get developed because governments particularly the EU will start to demand that lithium is sourced in an environmentally sustainable way. Its no accident that hard rock is processed in China where power to roast the hard rock comes from dirty coal fired power stations. If hard rock lithium was processed in a country like Australia its price would go through the roof as labor laws, environmental laws and processing with renewable energy would push the price up. And tracking the footprint of lithium is coming. Then there's ponds banned in Bolivia, restricted in Chile but still given free reign in Argentina but for how long? the future of lithium is DLE, the writing is on the wall.
