Luongho76,
I think most people are jumping to the wrong conclusions regarding this new reference price. It is not a Lithium pricing mechanism that sets a selling price for the finished product. This reference price has come about due to under and over invoicing when it comes to exporting product. The new reference price is used to ensure that the relevant taxes and duties being paid reflect a closer case of reality than recent practices have delivered. The reference price is in no way implemented to set the selling price of Lithium chemicals. The market will still determine the ultimate selling prices.
I’m astounded by the overreaction in the market over the last couple of days. Retail has lived up to it’s gullible best and has reacted exactly how it was supposed to as far as the likes of Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, etc. are concerned. It will take some time for the truth to flow out to Retail to give them back some confidence. In the meantime, we await the imminent significant announcements from LKE to assist us in de-coupling from this currently negative general market sentiment and have our SP act more independently from the general market.
Those of us that have been holding LKE for years have seen all of this before and have held through it to reap the substantial rewards that have followed these temporary downturns. Nobody said it’s easy. It is testing at times, but we can take great comfort in the facts:
- Electrification is now unstoppable
- Lithium is the key and irreplaceable element in the batteries required for the foreseeable future
- We have a large (Top 10) Lithium resource with a further 4 projects to develop
- The Lithium supply deficit through at least the next decade is irrefutable….no matter what the likes of GS and CS say
- Lithium base price will always be a function of the supply/demand scenario (economics 101)
- We are on the precipice of proving that Lake Resources will be a very significant player in the supply of Lithium chemicals going forward
It is up to each of us to make our own decisions with respect to our holdings going forward. I, like many others on here, will be holding strong and accumulating where possible.
