Last year, when the LKE share price was about $0.65, a bunch of free options, exerciseable at $0.75, were issued to then-shareholders. Last week was the deadline for them to be exercised. Today (not sure what time) the shares they were converted into came onto the market. If you were fortunate enough to have had those options, and exercised them, you effectively had a bunch of LKE shares you paid $0.75 for; with a current share price around $1.40 to $1.50. If you sold them today - at any time during the carnage (which began just after 1pm) - you made between about 45 % and 20 % profit.
A lot of people made a very tidy profit today. A lot of them will have sold in a panic after the sp slide began.
And a lot of market vultures picked up some very cheap LKE shares.
